Milan College Draft 2023

Pre-admission to Campus Colleges and Residences in the City of Milan a.y. 2023/2024
Students e students enrolled or enrolling in the first year of a Bachelor or Combined Bachelor and Master degree programme

The College Draft is an opportunity to compete for a place at the colleges and residences in Milan. Following this appointment, the College Camp will take place in July 2023, a further opportunity for students who did not participate in the College Draft in May. On that occasion, all the remaining places available at the Milan site will be assigned, including in the ranking all students who did not secure a place thanks to the College Draft.
Participating in the College Draft is therefore an extra opportunity to secure a place in the University's colleges and residences.

The deadline for submitting the online application to participate in the Milan College Draft is by 1 p.m. on Monday 8 May 2023 (the procedure is available in the MyEDUCatt personal area).

To submit a pre-admission application you must:

  1. Being enrolled or enrolling at the Catholic University for the first time in the first year of a Bachelor's or Combined Bachelor and Master's degree programme;
  2. Reside in a municipality that is NOT considered to be 'on site' or 'commuting' to the university campus in Milan (you can consult the list of municipalities at this page);
  3. Access to the MyEDUCatt restricted area and fully complete the online application "College Draft" available in the 2023/2024 - Colleges and University Residences area (within 48 hours of completion, the relevant receipt will be displayed in the "Receipts" section).

Competition places for the Milan College Draft

Number of maximum pre-assignable and available places for the College Draft at the Milan site:

  • 15 male places;
  • 30 female places.

A maximum number of male and female places will be pre-assigned, not exceeding 30% of the respective applications received for the College Draft (e.g.: in the case of a total of 60 total female applications, a maximum of 20 female places will be assignable at the Milan site). In the case of participation of students with disabilities, the total number of pre-assignable places based on the above criteria shall be increased by the number of students with disabilities found to be eligible for EDUCatt accommodation.

Please note that any pre-assignment guarantees the security of a place in one of the facilities available at the Milan campus; assignment to a specific Campus College or City Residence will take place by 31 July 2023, ONLY for pre-assigned students who have confirmed their desire to access EDUCatt residential facilities by also completing the ADMISSION application, which will be available online in June/July 2023. Assignment to a specific facility will take place on the basis of the preferences expressed by the student in the ADMISSION application and their position in the overall ranking drawn up following the June/July 2023 ADMISSION competition.
Students found to be eligible pre-assignees as a result of participating in the College Draft will be entitled to at least one of the two first preferences expressed in the June/July 2023 ADMISSION application.

Milan College Draft Competition

When completing the online application, students must express a preference for one of the following two options for the mandatory interview with the committee:

  • In presence (13 May 2023, subject to availability)
  • Online (as of 17 May 2023)

Preferences for the face-to-face interview option will be accepted in chronological order of the date of submission of the online application. In the event of availability being exhausted, the online interview will be offered as an alternative.

Invocations for the in-person interview will be deposited in the MyEDUCatt reserved area and sent by email no earlier than 2 May (after that date, convocations will take place within two working days from the date of submission of the online application).
Online interview convocations will be scheduled and communicated by EDUCatt as of 10 May. The interviews will take place on 17, 18 and 19 May via the Teams platformbetween 15.30 and 19.30. Depending on the number of requests, online interviews may also be scheduled on days after the last competition dates.

For both face-to-face and online interviews, it is not possible to request changes to scheduled appointments. During the interview, it is recommended to have with you a identity document valid as it will be required by the Commission for identification purposes. In the case of an online interview, it is advisable to test the correct functioning of the Teams application on their device (desktop or mobile) prior to the interview and to equip themselves with earphones if necessary.

The interview with the Commission will cover:

  • choice of Catholic University and of one's study path. Aspirations and goals with respect to one's academic and/or professional future;
  • choice of housing solution for the years of university life and expectations. Knowledge of the specifics of the Colleges' educational project and the regulations of the Colleges and Residences, available at this address;
  • awareness of and relationship with one's spiritual dimension;
  • previous experience of group/community life, even away from the usual living context (family/school/city) and dealing with any difficult moments.

The Commission will express an evaluation of the candidate's profile based on the above indicators, with a maximum total score of 60 points. It will also express a specific judgement concerning the candidates' propensity to adhere to the Campus Colleges' educational proposal (Suitable / Not Suitable). The Commission's judgements are indisputable.

Please note that the Campus Colleges of the Milan campus are:

  • Augustinianum College (male)
  • Ludovicianum College (male)
  • Marianum College (female)
  • Paul VI College (female)

The other facilities in EDUCatt's residential offer at the Milan site are referred to as Residences in the City.

Eligibility requirements for pre-assignment of a post

In order to be offered a pre-assigned place, students must:

  • Self-certify in the online application for the College Draft an overall average between the average marks achieved in the 3rd and 4th year of secondary school equal to at least 7 out of 10 (e.g.: a student with an average of 6.5/10 in the 3rd year and 7.5/10 in the 4th year is eligible for this requirement);
  • Achieve in the interview with the Commission an evaluation with a minimum overall score of 55 points out of a maximum of 60 achievable;
  • Residing in a municipality that is NOT considered to be 'on site' or 'commuting' to the university campus in Milan (you can consult the list of municipalities on this page).

Calculation criteria and formation of pre-admission rankings

If there are more eligible students in the College Draft than there are pre-allocated places, two rankings will be formed, one for men and one for women, ordered according to the following criteria applied in a progressive manner:

  1. Priority will be given to eligible students with disabilities as defined in Art. 1, c. 1, letter g) of DM 1320/2021 (for conditions of access, please refer to the College Draft Regulations);
  2. Sorting will take place on the basis of the overall marks obtained in the interview with the Commission, from highest to lowest;
  3. In the event of a tie, the student with the highest overall grade point average in the 3rd and 4th year of secondary school takes precedence in the ranking;
  4. In the event of a further tie, the youngest student takes precedence in the ranking.

Places are pre-allocated to the first-ranked eligible students, up to the total number of places available, as provided for in section Competition places for the Milan College Draft.

Outcome of the Milan College Draft

The results will be communicated by 31 May 2023 via the MyEDUCatt personal area (section 'Communications') and by email.
The notification of the outcome of the College Draft competition will state:

  • The overall mark achieved in the interview with the committee (0-60 points)
  • The judgement concerning the candidates' propensity to participate in the Colleges on Campus training proposal (Suitable / Not Suitable)
  • The position achieved in the reference ranking (for students meeting all eligibility requirements only)
  • The overall outcome of the College Draft competition

Students who were pre-assigned a place

Students wishing to confirm their pre-assigned place shall fill in online in the period June/July 2023 also the official applicationin which they will be able to express their preferences regarding the facilities available in the call for Admission and Readmission to Colleges and Residences of the Catholic University 2023/2024, to be published in June 2023.
This notice will also contain details of the tariffs envisaged for the individual facilities.
Students pre-assigned a place will be entitled to at least one of the two first preferences expressed among the available facilities (with the exclusion of the Colleges on Campus for students who have been assessed in the interview as NOT suitable for the Colleges on Campus training proposal).

The allocation of the specific Campus College or City Residence will be determined on the basis of the preferences expressed and the student's ranking in the overall ranking of all students applying for accommodation in the June/July 2023 Admission Application.

It should be noted that will lose their right to pre-allocation of the post all pre-assigned students who not will also submit the official application for Admission according to the notice of Admission and Readmission to Colleges and Residences of the Catholic University 2023/2024 available in June/July 2023.

The results of the allocation will be communicated by 31 July 2023; the communication will also contain the details necessary to confirm acceptance of the allocated place.

Eligible students NOT pre-assigned or students NOT eligible for the College Draft

All students who participated in the College Draft without having been allocated a place have a further opportunity to access the Università Cattolica's housing facilities at the Milan campus.
In June/July 2023 they will be able to take part in the College Camp Competition by filling in the relevant online application, according to the announcement of Admission and Readmission to Colleges and Residences of the Catholic University 2023/2024.

All students who have already taken the interview at the College Draft will not be able to and will not have to take it again, as the assessments already achieved will be automatically acquired.
At the College Camp all remaining and available places at the Milan venue will be allocated, approximately three times as many as were allocated in the College Draft.

The College Camp will guarantee priority in the allocation of places in favour of students with ISEE falling within the limits of the Right to Education regulations.
Moreover, this competition not will require minimum College Draft eligibility requirements relating to grade point averages at secondary school and assessment in the interview with the Commission. For all details please refer to the Notice of Admission and Readmission to Colleges and Residences of the Catholic University 2023/2024 which will be published in June 2023.

We therefore invite all students who did not receive a pre-allocation of a place in the College Draft to take advantage of this additional opportunity by filling out the online application for participation in the College Camp that will be available in June/July 2023.

Rome College Draft 2023

Pre-admission to Campus Colleges and Residences in the City of Rome a.y. 2023/2024
Students enrolled or enrolling in the first year of a Bachelor's or Combined Bachelor and Master's degree programme

The College Draft is an opportunity to compete for a place at the colleges and residences in Rome. Following this appointment, in July (Medicine and Surgery-Medicine and Surgery-Dentistry-Economics) and September (Health Professions-Pharmacy-LM of the Faculty of Medicine-Economics) the College Camp will be held, a further opportunity for students who did not participate in the College Draft in May. On that occasion, all remaining places available at the Rome campus will be assigned, including in the ranking all students who were not assured a place through the College Draft.
Participating in the College Draft is therefore an extra opportunity to secure a place in the University's colleges and residences.

The deadline for submitting the online application to participate in the Rome College Draft is by 1 p.m. on Friday 19 May 2023 (the procedure is available in the MyEDUCatt personal area as of 5 May).

To submit a pre-admission application you must:

  1. Being enrolled or enrolling at the Catholic University for the first time in the first year of a Bachelor's or Combined Bachelor and Master's degree programme;
  2. Residing in a municipality NOT considered to be 'on site' or 'commuting' to the university in Rome (you can consult the list of municipalities on this page);
  3. Log in to the MyEDUCatt reserved area, and fully complete the COLLEGE DRAFT online application available in the 2023/2024 - Colleges and University Residences area (within 48 hours of completion, you will be able to view the relevant receipt in the "Receipts" section).

Competition places for the College Draft in Rome

Number of maximum places available at the Rome site:

  • 15 male places;
  • 15 female places.

A maximum number of places not exceeding 30% of the total applications received will be allocated.

The results of the allocation will be communicated by 31 July 2023; the communication will also contain the details necessary to confirm acceptance of the allocated place.

Eligible students NOT pre-assigned or students NOT eligible for the College Draft

All students who participated in the College Draft without having been allocated a place have a further opportunity to access the Università Cattolica's housing facilities at the Rome campus.
In June/July 2023 they will be able to take part in the College Camp Competition by filling in the relevant online application, according to the announcement of Admission and Readmission to Colleges and Residences of the Catholic University 2023/2024.
